"If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear." D&C 38:30

All Missionaries in the Chile, Santiago East Mission are safe and accounted for. Today will be a day of service for all of us. We will look for ways to serve our Chilean brothers and sisters by teaching them about our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. We are thankful for the blessing of safety that we have been given. We are thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost, and we stand as witnesses of our Heavenly Father's love for all of His children throughout the world. Without a doubt, we know that our Savior lives, and that He directs this work. We know that when we do His work in His way, He is with us, and we experience miracles! Thank you for your prayers and concern, and please know that we love our missionaries with all our hearts. They are the Lord's army, and we are blessed to be among them and learn from them. They are blessing the lives of so many of our Father's children, and they are powerful examples of all that young people can and should be. Don't worry! Our missionaries are prepared, and "if ye are prepared, ye shall not fear." (D&C 38:30)

Thank you for taking care of our sons and daughters. While we as parents long to be there to help our children through this unforgettable experience, we are so grateful to know they are lead by inspired leaders. I am eternally grateful to know my missionary son is in your caring hands.

Thank you for this update. Of course, our minds immediately start playing the "what-if" game and it's reassuring to know that all is well. My thoughts and prayers are with all the missionaries and people affected by this quake.

Your blog report was so welcome today, since it is all the news we have of our missionary daughter. Will the missionaries be able to call home briefly in the near future? Thank you for taking care of each other and those who are suffering the effects of the quake. You are all in our prayers.

Dear President and Sister Laycock and everyone there,
We love you so much and appreciate the quick update this morning! It made our day bearable
as the news reports kept getting worse here at home. It has made a scary day more endurable
and the Spirit has been in our home abundantly.Thank you for your testimony of preparedness
and service. It puts the chaos in a better perspective, I guess.
We are still very concerned and worried for the state of the people, members, and our elders there.
Our earnest prayers are with all of you there, and most especially for our Elder
Jeremy Okleberry! If for some reason we can't hear from him this week directly, could you please
pass along our love for him? We are anxious to help in any way. How can we help?
We love you, our prayers are constant, and we'll do whatever you need us to do as parents here.
Thanks again so very much!
Leigh and Kevin Okleberry (and three little sisters)

Dear Sis. Laycock:

Thank you again for keeping us all aware of what was going on in Chile! As a family we were sooo appreciative of your blog. Lots of happy faces at home!!
I was not sure how to contact the mission office. I tried the phone number and could not get through. Would it be possible for one of the office staff to call Elder Andrew Johnston and let him know his Visa card is now activated. That would be a great help to us. Again, thank you for all of your hard work keeping us updated on all of these wonderful missionaries and their safety! Take care-Sis. Becky Johnston
